Professor Hesketh and her team collaborate with experts from Southeastern Asian countries focusing on adolescent mental health on Jun. 24-25

Professor Hesketh and her team have successfully held a workshop on Adolescent Mental Health with experts from Indonesia and Cambodia on Jun. 24-25th.111.jpg

Dean of School of Public Health, Professor Wu Xifeng; Vice Director of Social Medicine, Professor Wang Hongmei; Director of Center for Global Health, Professor Therese Hesketh; Professor Diana Setiyawati and Professor Yayi Suryo Prabandari from UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA; Professor Phan Chanpeou and Professor Sareth Khann from Royal University of Phnom Penh;  Director of mental health department of Tongde Hospital, Ma Yongchun etc. attended this workshop.

The main subject is to develop a tool to investigate adolescent mental health and to discuss the following intervention measures.222.jpg

On June 24th, Dean Wu Xifeng gave an opening speech under the hosting of Professor Hesketh, and then researchers from different countries reported adolescent mental health status and situations in Indonesia, Cambodia and China respectively. In the afternoon, all of the attending experts have discussed the research tool made by Center for Global Health including the exploration of risk factors related to mental health problems and the selection of scales.

On June 25th, Professor Hesketh shared the intervention methods on promoting adolescent mental health from different countries and different studies. Finally, we reached an agreement on future research and collaboration.333.jpg

Overall, we have got useful feedbacks for future research and developed the friendship with researchers from Belt & Road countries.
